How Kylie Jenner Became The Youngest Self-Made Billionaire Ever At 21

Kylie Jenner

Kylie Kristen Jenner is the younger sister of Kendall Jenner. She was born in Los Angeles, California on the 10th of August, 1997.

She’s the youngest daughter of 1976 Summer Olympics decathlon winner Bruce Jenner (now Caitlyn Jenner) and TV personality Kris Jenner.

Apart from starring in E! reality show, Kylie is a model, businesswoman and a mega social media influencer. She’s the sole owner of Kylie Cosmetics worth $900 million.

She is estimated as of March 2019 by Forbes to be worth US$1 billion. Kylie is currently the world’s youngest self-made billionaire at the age of 21.

On the road to becoming a billionaire, Forbes had stated that Kylie had sold her makeup online and briefly in pop up shops until it witnessed a massive turnaround after collaborating with mega beauty salon company, Ulta Beauty Inc, which has over 1,000 stores in the United States to distribute its products.

In order to facilitate a faster sale of her $29 cosmetic kit, Kylie stormed Richmond Avenue Ulta in Houston greeting, signing autographs and posing for selfies with her numerous fans who turned out to buy her product.

In just over six weeks, Kylie Cosmetics sold $54.5 million worth of products in Ulta, according to Forbes. In addition, social media campaigns on her social media pages to her over 175 million followers has helped boost sales tremendously. Just last year, her sales soared 9% bring her a whopping $360 million.

Her ability to coordinate everything with a tiny workforce has made her the envy of other entrepreneurs. Forbes revealed that she has seven full-time and five part-time employees working for her, yet she makes such groundbreaking profits and returns – thanks to the power of social media where she previews new products, launches and outings to her over 175 million followers on Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, Snapchat etc.

As a brainy woman, she outsourced manufacturing and packaging to a private-label producer called Seed Beauty in nearby Oxnard, California. This eliminates the burden of a large workforce. Her sales are handled by online merchant Shopify while her mother, Kris manages her finances and PR for a fee.

When Kylie Cosmetics launched in Ulta in 50 states, in some stores inventory was gone in hours. It was a real frenzy.

While Kylie Cosmetics is worth $900 million, her other endorsements and sources of income catapulted her to the top as the youngest ever self-made billionaire at 21.
